In the United States, your FICO score is a key factor in traditional mortgage approvals. However, this system often creates a difficult situation for new immigrants, international students, and young professionals who have stable incomes but are unable to secure a loan because they haven’t yet built a credit history. To solve this problem, Wintrust Mortgage Services has launched the “No FICO Loan” Program , specifically designed for homebuyers with limited or no FICO credit history. This program breaks through traditional barriers and helps you achieve your dream of homeownership.
The “No FICO Loan Program” is a mortgage solution where banks don’t require a FICO credit score. Instead, they assess your repayment ability using alternative financial indicators, such as bank statements and cash flow, overseas credit history (optional), rental history and residential records, and job stability and proof of income. This makes the No FICO Loan an ideal starting point for many individuals who are new to the U.S. and haven’t had the chance to establish a complete credit profile.
This program is particularly suitable for new immigrants who have just arrived in the U.S. and have no local credit history, international students transitioning to work visas or EAD holders, young professionals and recent graduates who haven’t yet built credit, and individuals with low or no credit scores due to long-term cash transactions. As long as you have a stable source of income and can provide legal identification and basic documentation, you can successfully apply for a mortgage through this program.
Even without a FICO score, this program can support loan-to-value ratios of up to 85% and can be used for purchasing a primary residence, investment property loans (based on income matching), and joint applications (with a spouse or family member). Some clients may also be eligible for grant programs or rate buydowns to further optimize their loan structure.
In the past, “buying a home without a credit history” was often seen as a significant challenge. Now, with Wintrust Mortgage’s expertise and flexible product offerings, new immigrants and those with insufficient credit can get pre-approved quickly, avoiding frequent credit checks that could lower a score; use real bank statements in place of a traditional credit score; receive guidance from a dedicated advisor throughout the entire process; and receive full support from application to successful closing.
The No FICO Loan Program is our way of understanding the diverse backgrounds of our clients. We believe that if you are financially healthy, you deserve to own a home, even without a FICO score. Your journey to homeownership can start even with no credit history. A “blank slate” doesn’t mean “bad credit,” and it shouldn’t be a reason to be denied a mortgage. The No FICO Loan program allows more homebuyers to enter the U.S. real estate market and begin their stable life here.

Interest rates and annual percentage rates (APRs) are based on current market rates, are for informational purposes only, are subject to change without notice and may be subject to pricing add-ons related to property type, loan amount, loan-to-value, credit score and other variables—call for details. This is not a credit decision or a commitment to lend. Depending on loan guidelines, mortgage insurance may be required. If mortgage insurance is required, the mortgage insurance premium could increase the APR and the monthly mortgage payment. Additional loan programs may be available. APR reflects the effective cost of your loan on a yearly basis, considering such items as interest, most closing costs, discount points (also referred to as “points”) and loan-origination fees. One point is 1% of the mortgage amount (e.g., $1,000 on a $100,000 loan). Your monthly payment is not based on APR, but instead on the interest rate on your note. Adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) rates assume no increase in the financial index after the initial fixed period. ARM rates and monthly payments are subject to increase after the fixed period: ARMs assume 30-year term.
